The Big Biscut

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

What: Southern Food

Overall experience: 10/10

This place is the epitome of southern cuisine. This is a southern diner yall!

I don't know how to explain it but this place felt like home and I don't know if I was even looking for that when we were out to dinner. The interior was decorated flawlessly with southern decor, cups on the wall, a large map of the country, chickens, and random pictures or random things. As soon as you walk in, you start sweating gravy. You are greeted with southern charm by a hostess who tries to get your whole story in the span it takes you to walk 20 feet to your table.

Their menus were about as big as a person's. They offered so many different food options spanning from breakfast foods, snacks, wings, burgers, and practically anything fried. There were so many options, I didnt want to choose just one thing. I wanted one of everything. Quality southern food is hard to come by if youre not in the south. I was so incredibly excited about this food.

The experience here was great. The food was phenomenal. It was greasy and fried and absolutely delicious. It definitely hit the spot. The only downside to this experience was that our waiter was not kind. He only checked in on us once. We tried to flag him down a few times over a 20-minute time span. When he got to our table and we asked for the check, it took him about 10ish minutes to bring the check over. Then about another 10 minutes for him to come by, where he took our plates, not our cards, which were already at the end of the table with our receipts. We constipated walking out without paying but figured that maybe he was having a hard day. Eventually, we did pay and leave. But literally, everything else was phenomenal about this.

If youre looking for some nice comfort food, this might be the place to go.
