Location: Austin, Texas
What: Mexican food
Overall experience: 10/10
This is a family-owned drive-through authentic (nontexmex) Mexican restaurant located in Austin, Texas. It is very small. I believe they might have outdoor seating sometimes but it is more known for its drive-through options. It's a very small building that looks a little worn down but it's obvious that it has a lot of love.
It also has a lot of food options. Again, a small family-owned restaurant means that the family is the one that is taking orders, making the orders, etc. The family is INCREDIBLY nice. I remember one time I was there with my friend and we didnt know what we wanted so the father was making us laugh and giving us tastes of things and having a bawl of fun. You can clearly see that the family loved doing what they were doing.
One thing I did want to note about this place is that they have bomb banana bread. You might be thinking, “what? Why would they have banana bread at a Mexican restaurant”. Listen, don't question it. Just happily eat it on your drive home to tide you over before you sit down to eat your tacos. The owner gave us our first banana bread for free. He's given us some tacos as well for free just to try it. He's really cool and he is really funny so go get you some tacos.
