Become an influencer in Austin, Texas

I love scrolling through Instagram and seeing beautiful colors and backgrounds, editing, sunsets, and food. However, I HATE posting on social media. I always think “who cares about what I'm doing” but there are just some photos that you take that are stunning and you can't hide them. Here is a list of the best Instagram-able places in Austin Texas. These are just super basic ones. The longer you're in Austin, the more you'll see that pretty much Austin was created just for Instagramming.

Murals Obviously:

If you live under a rock (or outside of texas), then it's time for you to know if you don't already, there are SO MANY different murals that are painted on building sides in Austin. There's even a mural tour that you can go through, leading you through 30+ Instagram-able murals. Some are incredibly famous (Can't you see it? Green wall, red lettering: I love you so much), while others are less known (I'm looking at you “Hi How are you” Frog). You can go to these different sites, have photoshoots around town, or just stop by one while you're passing through. Not only are they fun but you can be creative when photographing to make you stand out. I will do a more extensive list of murals around Austin!

360 Bridge:

360 bridge, at least in my professional opinion, is to austinites as the golden gate bridge is to California. The 360 bridge offers a lot of different kinds of views of the city. YOu can have a “regular” view where you are standing on the dirt path looking out into the street, seeing the colors of the bridge and cars. You can walk up a set of stairs to get up on the nearby rock and see the Austin skyline with the lake separating the city. Many pictures on google were taken at 360 bridge.

South Congress: South congress is a very popular street. It is a street that houses many different Instagram-able moments. It goes across Ladybird lake (which is also a very popular Instagram place) so you can stop the car, get out and snap some photos. It is a straight path to the Capitol so it offers a bunch of background photos for you crossing the street. South Congress also has many different shops (and murals) that offer color and style to pictures. You can stop at the famous coffee shops or ice cream shops and snap photos inside these places too.

Lady Bird Lake:

I'm not going to go into too much detail about this just because when you think of a lake, you already have a set photo type you can post for Instagram. Many can take swimming or tubing photos, kayaking or fishing, or boating photos as well. The great thing about Lady Bird Lake is that it's so large and fast that it offers a variety of athletic-looking photos.

(p.s. You can rent a party boat at night on lady bird lake and go to the south congress bridge and watch bats swarm into the night. Another great photo op).

Restaurants/shops:

Hopefully, I'll be able to remember all the best places to go to get your photo taken at restaurants. I'll provide a more extensive list in another post, however, it seems like Austin does a fantastic job including great Instagram-able moments in their restaurants or shops. It's no longer a super awkward photo your mother posts of food with you stuffing your face in the blurry background. There are flower walls and neon signs and teacups backdrops that you can utilize.

The Domain:

This is like a super modern outside mall kind of thing. A lot of people know this for the bars that they have here. But it's a really beautiful area for Instagram. They have fun games and bars and fantastic little shops to go to, not only to shop but to photoshoot and your friends will also have fun taking photos of you.

There are many places that can work to become an “Instagram influencer” in Austin, Texas. Almost everything you do in Austin can be used if you're confident enough and have the skills to edit. Don't think that you can only use these places that are mentioned above to have a thriving Instagram. Also, just please remember that you are beautiful and worthy and a lot of things you see on Instagram are filtered or photoshopped. You don't have to be filtered or photoshopped to have fun posting on Instagram (something I am still learning how to do as well.)
